Lydia Liebman Promotions Celebrates Five GRAMMY® Nominations at the 68th GRAMMY® Awards
Lydia Liebman Promotions is thrilled to celebrate its many clients and projects nominated for the 68th GRAMMY® Awards. Collectively, four albums from the LLP roster, released during the 2024-2025 GRAMMY® eligibility period, received five nominations.
Celebrating his fifth career GRAMMY® nomination this year, the acclaimed pianist-composer Sullivan Fortner secured a nomination in the Best Jazz Instrumental Album category for his vibrant album Southern Nights (Artwork Records). The illustrious saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin earned her sixth career GRAMMY® nomination for Best Jazz Performance for “Noble Rise” featuring Immanuel Wilkins & Mark Whitfield, marking a new era beyond her transformative Phoenix period. In the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category, Kenny Wheeler Legacy featuring The Royal Academy of Music Jazz Orchestra & Frost Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Nick Smart and John Daversa, received a nomination for Some Days Are Better: The Lost Scores (Greenleaf Music), a remarkable project honoring rarely-heard works from a crucial period in Wheeler’s musical emergence. Simultaneously, the innovative ensemble The 8-Bit Big Band earned a nomination in the same category for their fifth full-length album Orchestrator Emulator (Teamchuck Records). This is their first nomination as an ensemble as they redefine the concept of a modern big band by bringing video game music into the realm of sophisticated jazz arrangements. Orchestrator Emulator received an additional nomination too: “Super Mario Praise Break,” earned a nomination for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for Bryan Carter, Charlie Rosen and Matthew Whitaker.
These nominations, spanning both this year and prior seasons reflect Lydia Liebman Promotions’ sustained dedication and meaningful role within the jazz and creative music landscape. The 68th GRAMMY® Awards will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, 2026, and will be broadcast live on CBS Television Network and Paramount+.
