Chronicles features a tight ensemble of highly sought after up and coming musicians including saxophonist Edmar Colon, trumpeter Mao Sone, pianist Kyumin Shim and bassist Johnny Chapman. “I wanted to create a collaborative sound inspired by each member in the band,” says Fung regarding the group’s debut, “and each individual contributed their compositions which are inspired by friendship, love, and special events. This is only the beginning of the process towards our continuous journey through life."

Fresh off a successful Canadian tour celebrating the release of Chronicles, the album has been garnering positive reviews from some of the most important figureheads in jazz, most notably NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman who calls the album “an excellent debut as a leader” and Tiger Okoshi who praises the album as a bridge between “past and future sounds and also the sounds of today.”

The Anthony Fung Quintet is thrilled to be presenting Chronicles at The Regattabar for its Boston release celebration. More information about Anthony and the album can be found at The Regattabar functions as a full service bar and restaurant.
