With over 10 years of experience, Lydia Liebman is an accomplished jazz vocalist and theatrical performer. She began jazz vocal lessons at the age of 10 with Nancy Reed (Duke Ellington All Star Band, John Coates Jr.) and classical voice lessons at age 13 with Shellie Bransford (Metropolitan Opera Guild Program Director, Creating Original Opera Program). Her interest in music began with an early love for musical theater and most noteabley, Judy Garland, who had a profound influence on her early musical career. Throughout her high school period, Liebman performed often in theatrical productions and in at a variety of jazz festivals and venues. In college, Liebman studied at Berklee College of Music under the instruction of renowned vocalist Kris Adams. Liebman has performed alongside esteemed musicians such as Filo Machado, Jason Palmer, Dave Liebman, Billy Hart, Phil Woods, Vic Juris, Phil Markowitz, Bob Dorough, and Nancy Reed, among others. Venues and festivals of note include Scullers Jazz Club, Phil Woods’ Celebration of the Arts Festival, Birdland Jazz Club, The Deer Head Inn, The Falcon, The Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival, Allentown Symphony Hall and more.
