Dive into a new big band record this week from trumpet player and composer Brian Lynch. The American musician joins a host of heavyweight players on ‘The Omni-American Book Club’ – featuring tunes that connect his love of literature to music.

On The Omni-American Book Club (subtitled ‘My Journey Through Literature In Music’), Brian Lynch joins his passion for reading with his deep understanding of jazz and big band writing. For this release, he’s crafted a series of tunes inspired by some of his favourite writers, including W.E.B. DuBois, Ralph Ellison and Isabel Wilkerson. The record also features appearances from saxophonist Dave Liebman, drummer Dafnis Prieto and violin player Regina Carter.
