April 14 at Club Bonafide, New York, NY

Club Bonafide, located at 212 East 52nd Street in New York City is proud to present respected saxophonist Ray Zepeda on Friday, April 14 from 9:30 to 10:45 PM. Reservations and advance ticket purchases are highly recommended. Call: 646-918-6189 or reserve tickets online. The cover is $15.

The West Coast based saxophonist, Ray Zepeda, is joined onstage by pianist Donald Vega, known for his association with Ron Carter, top bassist, Marcos Varela, and rising drum star, Mark Whitfield, Jr., in his NYC debut as a leader at this high-profile 52nd Street venue owned by legendary bassist, Richard Bona! For this set, Zepeda is joined on the front line by Freddie Hendrix, known for his association with Christian McBride and Billy Harper as well as Duke Ellington Orchestra trombonist, Stafford Hunter.

Zepeda’s CD, Step By Step, on Soundsketch Records received widespread radio airplay nationwide and abroad and was the top-selling CD at the Bakersfield Jazz Festival on a bill of internationally-known artists. Moreover, significant chart movement was seen. That assemblage of smoking, thought-provoking tracks features L.A.’s top-shelf rhythm section including former Bill Evans Trio drummer, Joe La Barbera, in a tapestry of original compositions and adventurous arrangements of standards. Tonight’s performance at Club Bonafide will feature selections from this album and from his new album, America, to be released in late-2017.
